This month, PureLab 5.0 is here.
The most tiring part of library cleanup is rarely a single track. It is the same sequence, over and over: pull a title from the filename, strip a download-site suffix, convert Traditional Chinese to Simplified, then normalize casing. Those used to be separate actions. You flipped through the sidebar, then you finally dared to write back.
Now they can live on one pipeline. It produces a draft first. You review it. Then you write it to the files.
The steps you kept switching between, on one line
You have seen files like this: artist, title, and show stuffed into the name, with ad copy dragging behind. Some tags are Traditional Chinese, some are ALL CAPS, some are empty.
Before, you opened Extract, then Replace, then CJK, then case and format — finish one step, switch to the next.
Now you can line up Extract, Replace, CJK, Case, and Format, save the chain, and reuse it on the next batch. A run always starts with a draft. If it looks wrong, you edit the pipeline. If it looks right, you write back. Nothing changes on disk until you say so.
Open Data Processing → Tag Pipeline. Enable a pipeline, then pick it from the right side of the Organize page.
The Organize page is a little smoother
After you filter a batch, send the whole result into the work basket in one go. Favorite the columns you always look at. For sound libraries, UCS can classify material automatically. You can erase a field, or discard edits you have not saved. Light and dark appearance are both there. The help manual now covers pipelines.
Try it like this
Open Data Processing → Tag Pipeline. Line up Extract, Replace, CJK, Case, and Format, then enable it.
On the Organize page, choose that pipeline on the right. Start with the batch that bothers you most — site suffixes, mixed scripts, all caps, anything. Run it and look at the draft only. Write back when the draft is right. Save the pipeline for the next similar batch.
