PureLab

PureLab (hereinafter referred to as the App) is a local-first intelligent music tag organizer. Audio files, analysis results, and tag data stay on your device by default. If you use the AI Assistant, limited network transmission occurs as described in this policy: conversations go to the model service you configure, plus optional anonymized usage logs.

Effective Date: 2026-09-11

1. Overview

  • The App is local-first: tag analysis, library organization, and file writes run on your device. We do not upload your music files.
  • The AI Assistant is optional. When enabled, conversations go to the model service you configure. By default we also send redacted usage logs to our analytics service; you can turn this off in Settings.

2. Data Collection and Use

  • Core organizing features require no account. We do not collect your name, email, or precise location.
  • No music file uploads: audio, local analysis results, and tag data remain on your local drive.
  • No third-party advertising or behavioral tracking SDKs (for example Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel).
  • Install-level anonymous identifier: unless you turn off “Help improve the product”, we generate and store a random UUID (visitor id) to associate Assistant logs from the same installation. It is not a hardware serial number and does not contain your name or email.
  • AI Assistant usage logs: when you use the AI Assistant and have not turned this option off, the App sends logs to our analytics service (log.efficient-lab.com). Logs may include: the text you typed (absolute paths replaced with [path], up to about 2,000 characters), model name, operating system, plan tier, app version, tool names/status/latency, a short summary of tool arguments such as search keywords, and any thumbs-up/down, comment, or assistant-reply excerpt you submit (up to about 500 characters). Logs do not include API keys, audio files, or raw hardware identifiers. They are used only to evaluate and improve Assistant quality.
  • You can turn off “Help improve the product” anytime in Settings → AI Assistant. After you opt out, new logs are not uploaded, and queued unsent records are skipped.

3. Local AI Models

  • Tag analysis uses local AI models bundled in the App. That analysis runs offline, entirely on-device.
  • Local AI models are used only for audio feature extraction and tag inference. Your music content or metadata is never uploaded to any server for that analysis.

4. AI Assistant

  • The AI Assistant uses a model endpoint and key you provide (BYOK). The key is stored on your device and is never included in our analytics logs.
  • The conversation, context, and tool results you send are transmitted to the model provider you configured and are subject to that provider’s own privacy policy. We cannot control how that provider processes the content.
  • The Assistant cannot rewrite your music files directly; write-back requires your confirmation in the product.

5. System Permissions

  • File Access is used only to read explicitly selected audio files and write updated metadata. The App does not scan your entire hard drive.

6. Subscriptions and Purchases

  • The App offers Free/Pro plans. Pro upgrades are completed through platform app stores (Mac App Store / Microsoft Store).
  • Purchase credential verification is done locally on the device or through platform store APIs, without collecting additional user information.

7. Data Security

  • Music files and tag processing do not go through our servers by default. Network requests related to the AI Assistant use HTTPS.
  • Analytics logs are sent to log.efficient-lab.com, which we operate, solely to improve product quality and not for advertising profiles.

8. Changes to This Policy

  • We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Periodic review is encouraged.
